Cybersecurity has been called the greatest threat to every company in the world. As industry becomes increasingly autonomous and tech-driven, this threat will only continue to grow.
With this context in mind, it’s surprising how little thought most of us give to cybersecurity in our day-to-day actions. Instead, we tend to think of cybersecurity as being something that keeps the IT team up at night. But this is a dangerous misconception. In an Industry 4.0 world, cybersecurity must be a part of every business discussion.
Industrial networks face an array of cyber threats, the consequences of which can affect both factories and the employees that work there. Developed in partnership with Fraunhofer, a globally recognised German research centre, this course equips you with everything you need to know about cyber-attacks and how to prevent them.
Divided into six parts, the course uses a combination of face-to-face workshops, group activities, and hands-on exercises. Focused on providing you with the fundamentals of cybersecurity for automated systems, the training covers such concepts as:
- Industry 4.0 essentials and established security concepts
- The security risks inherent in automation technology and industrial environments
- Securing network infrastructure
- The infrastructure of cyber-physical production systems
- Network analysis and the basics of public key infrastructure
To enhance the learning experience, the course includes a unique opportunity to apply your new skills and knowledge towards solving real-world industry problems. This starts by looking at actual cyber-attacks, including how they work and the impact they have on the production environment.
Next, you will use your newly acquired skills to design and implement cybersecurity solutions using Fraunhofer’s cybersecurity suitcase – an innovative and immersive environment where you can practice, programme – even attack – a real industrial production system.
You will leave the training having a comprehensive understanding of the main aspects and importance of industrial cybersecurity – an understanding that can serve as a springboard towards advanced training.
